Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB) was awarded the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award 2008, which is organized by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. SIB also achieved the Dubai Quality Award 2008 which is organized by the Dubai Economic Development Department. Mohamed Abdullah, CEO of Sharjah Islamic Bank, received the two awards in two separate ceremonies from Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.
Mohamed Abdullah clarified that winning the two awards is the fruit of the ambitious strategy outlined by the board of directors, and based on the guidelines of H.H Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and the directives of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and the Chairman of Sharjah Islamic Bank.
