The main duties of Sharia’a Controller and Sharia’a Control Division are:

To follow up the fatwa and decision issued and made by Fatwa and Sharia’a Control Board.

To inspect the whole bank’s deals and operations in order to appraise the bank’s obligation towards the Board’s fatwas and Islamic Sharia’a rules.

To submit a quarterly report to the Fatwa and Sharia’a Control Board (with copy to the board of directors and the CEO) including the results of inspecting and auditing process for the bank’s deals and operations and the instructions about what should be done, corrections and refinement.

Contribution in the training of the bank’s employees by delivering training courses about the fundamentals of Islamic Banking and Islamic modes of finance.

Link & connect the bank with Sharia’a Control & Fatwa Board and improve turnaround time for Sharia’a approval and extend the guidance/Sharia’a opinion to the bank.

Correction/enlightenment of the particular staff about the errors detected during the auditing process to increase the awareness of employees about the Islamic Transactions.

Problem solving of daily critical queries which confront employees.
