Sharjah Islamic Bank wins big for recruitment and Emiratization

Receives two awards from Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies including Best CEO Award for Emiratization 2017

Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB) won two awards from the Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS) yesterday for its human resources development and Emiratization programmes. His Excellency Mohammed Abdallah, Chief Executive Officer of SIB accepted the awards during the National Career Exhibition being held at the Sharjah Expo Center from 7-9 February.

In recognition of SIBs efforts to recruit nationals and develop careers, EIBFS awarded the Bank with the Dubai Award for Human Resources Development in the Banking and Financial Sector for 2016 and the Best CEO Award for Emiratization for 2017.

HE Mohammed Abdallah pointed out that the Bank’s dedication to human resources stems from the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, to invest in human resources in order to drive progress in construction and development of the emirate.

He said: “Thanks to our tangible benefits and incentives, courses and training programs, Sharjah Islamic Bank is an attractive employer for ambitious, talented and innovative Emirati nationals. This makes us an attractive employer, as we work together to achieve high levels of performance, grow further into the marketplace and serve customers. This in turn contributes to the promotion of economic growth and urban progress in the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE in general.”

SIB has comprehensive Emiratization training programs, including the Massar Programme for nationals, to qualify them for leading positions over a two to three-year period. It has also Kawader Programme to prepare senior national staff at branch level for higher positions. In addition, there is Ruwaad Programme, which focuses on training new national graduates with bachelor's degrees or higher diploma programmes to acquire the expertise and skills necessary to practice banking efficiently.

Sharjah Islamic Bank has won numerous awards in the field of Human Development and Emiratization, including the Dubai Human Development Award (DHD) by the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) three times, and the Award for the "Best Employer in Emiratization Initiatives" during its participation in Ajman First Employment Exhibition, which was organized by the Central Administration for Human Resource Development in Ajman in 2014.
