The hotel was upgraded and renovated under an agreement signed between the Sharjah National Hotels group, the owner of Holiday International and Marbella Resort Sharjah. The development and upgrade of the hotel took place over a span of two years from May 2011 to May 2013.

He added that many important aspects were taken into consideration while renovating the hotel, such as the application of modern and unique designs, and the creation of world-class dining venues for which top and highly skilled chefs specialised in presenting various dishes from local and international cuisines have been recruited.
Great care has also been taken to develop special recreational programmes, and to recruit highly qualified staff with vast experience in dealing with and meeting the demands of hotel occupants, in order to offer visitors a unique opportunity to experience true Arabian hospitality in luxury and comfort.
The upgrade encompassed the hotel's 177 suits and rooms, including 18 luxurious suits, as well as other additions featuring three-bedroom villas with private seaside pools, a banquet hall that can accommodate 1000 people and the addition of another 40 rooms and chalets.
