48. What is Samsung KNOX?
o KNOX is Samsung's defense-grade security platform which is a new security feature that is being offered in the latest Samsung handsets. It helps you to securely save the “Token number” to give you comprehensive security for your mobile payments. Samsung KNOX also checks and protects the device for malware. If Samsung KNOX detects a malicious software, Samsung Pay will be disabled.

49. What is Secure Environment, or Trusted Execution Environment?
A Secure Environment is a physically segregated chip in the phone which only allows access to highly sensitive operation/information such as fingerprint and payment information. Normal applications and malware have no access to the information in Secure Environment.

50. How accurate is the fingerprint scanner?
The Fingerprint scanner has a false acceptance ratio of 0.002%. In this case, Fingerprint scanning is highly secure in that it is unlikely that a different person can log in to Samsung Pay with Fingerprint security.

51. Does Samsung Pay have access to my bank account?
No, Samsung Pay does not have access to your bank accounts.

52. Does Samsung Pay store my personal / payment information on a server or my device?
No, Samsung does not store your personal / payment information on a Samsung server or the device. Only a device-specific Token, which is used to replace your sensitive payment information, is stored on the device.

53. What is a Digital Account Number?
o For enhanced security, your actual 16 digit card number will never be stored on your device. During the registration of the card, your card number will be replaced by a unique Digital Account Number (also called the Token Number) which will be created by MasterCard. This Digital Account Number will then be stored in the secured element (KNOX) of the device and will be transmitted to the card terminal every time you pay for purchases.

54. How can I activate my Digital Account Number?
o Your Digital Account Number needs to be activated by entering the OTP (One Time Pin) as prompted. The Sharjah Islamic Bank Customer Care team can assist you with other matters related to your Digital Account Number but not activation.

61. Can I continue to use my physical payment card if I disable Samsung Pay or remove the digital equivalent on Samsung Pay?
Yes, when you disable Samsung Pay or remove a registered card, you are only suspending the token or digital card number that has been assigned to your device for that card.

62. If the cashier asks for the last 4 digits of the card but the transaction still does not pass what do I do?
In case the merchant asks you for the last four digits of the card number, you will need to provide the last four digits of the digital card number, not the last four digits of the physical card. It is located on the left side of the card in the Simple Pay screen, and in the main app when viewing your registered cards.
