Job Purpose:
The Senior Officer - Marketing Communications is responsible for developing and implementing strategic communication initiatives to enhance brand visibility, customer engagement, market positioning, build brand equity, support product launches, and drive customer engagement across ATL, BTL, and digital touchpoints. The role ensures that all marketing and corporate communication efforts align with the bank’s brand identity, Shariah principles, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the position involves managing media relations, internal and external communications, and supporting marketing campaigns to drive awareness and business growth.
Key Accountabilities:
Develop and execute marketing communication strategies to enhance brand awareness, Craft compelling, consistent, and on-brand messaging across all mediums.
- Increase in brand recognition and customer engagement.
- Successful implementation of communication campaigns within timelines.
- Engagement, Readability scores, Copy accuracy
Ensure all marketing materials align with brand guidelines and regulatory requirements, Manage customer-facing and corporate events from Marketing aspect
- Compliance with Shariah principles and banking regulations.
- Accuracy and consistency in messaging across all communication channels.
- Event attendance, Brand visibility, Lead collection
Manage internal and external communications, including press releases, newsletters, and media relations.
- Positive media coverage and stakeholder engagement.
- Timely and effective dissemination of key messages
Stakeholder Management, Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to execute communication campaigns effectively.
- Efficient collaboration leading to seamless campaign execution.
- Timely delivery of marketing materials and content
Collateral Management, Oversee production and distribution of marketing assets.
- Timeliness, Quality, Brand adherence
Frameworks, Boundaries, & Decision Making Authority:
- Regulatory & Compliance Framework: Ensures all marketing and communication materials comply with Shariah guidelines, banking regulations, and brand standards. Works closely with legal and compliance teams for necessary approvals.
- Decision-Making Authority: Has the authority to develop and execute marketing communication strategies within the approved budget. Recommends content, messaging, and campaign adjustments based on market trends and customer insights.
- Operational & Budgetary Boundaries: Manages communication projects within assigned budgets and deadlines. Works with internal teams and external agencies to ensure cost-effective marketing execution.
- Crisis Communication & Media Handling: Provides strategic input on handling media relations and crisis communications. Coordinates with PR and senior management for official statements and responses.
- Operates under Head of Marketing guidance and within approved communication calendar and brand guidelines.
- Has authority to brief agencies and vendors and recommend content/campaign edits.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- A master’s degree or certification in Digital Marketing/PR is a plus.
Minimum Experience:
- 4–6 years of experience in marketing communications, branding, or corporate communications.
- Experience in banking, financial services, or Islamic banking is preferred.
Language Skills:
- Excellent proficiency in English & Arabic (written & spoken).
- Bilingual (English & Arabic) preferred for effective communication across diverse audiences.
Computer/ System / Software Skills :
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat & Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) for content development.
- Familiarity with CRM tools, digital marketing platforms, and social media management tools & Project Management.
