Job Purpose:
The role ensures efficient delivery of correspondent banking services, including cash management , cross-border payments and trade finance products & provide guidance on issues occurring within SIB and its relationship banks including strategic Nostro accounts. To identify new business opportunities, negotiates correspondent banking arrangements, monitors account performance and enhances SIB’s global banking network.
The incumbent will be required to closely collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and deliver innovative financial solutions that enhance customer service, increase revenue, and support sustainable business growth.
Key Accountabilities:
- Establish, Manage and promote cordial relationships with SIB’s Correspondent Banks - Financial Institution.
- Support delivery of seamless trade finance services to SIB’s internal and external clients.
- Negotiate appropriate credit line with correspondent banks.
- Contribute to departmental revenue growth and meet annual revenue targets.
- Ensure compliance to SIB’s Risk management policies, Anti-Money Laundering Prevention policy and other relevant CB regulations. Ensure compliance to internal and external controls and procedures for money laundering prevention;
- Participate and engage Credit Risk/ Risk/Compliance Teams periodically.
- Monitor customer performance through regular review of accounts, customer visits and financial statements;
- Cross-Sell products to maximize business from each connection;
- Ensure control systems put in place are adhered to in full so as to minimize risk of loss to the bank.
- Proactively improve existing correspondent banking relationships /correspondent banking portfolio.
- Manage internal relationships and build cohesion and transparency across departments by working closely with Legal, Corporate Banking , Retail Banking , Operations and compliance teams among others.
- Support product development initiatives by working closely with SIB’s strategic relationship banks / correspondent banks.
- Conduct regular pricing review of products and services offered by SIB’s Correspondent Banks and negotiate favorable pricing.
- Seek venues of revenue creation from correspondent bank accounts maintained by the bank including opportunities for rebate agreements.
- Build and maintain robust and scalable database of KYC documents.
- Resolution of business/ operational issues and dispute with correspondent banks.
- Prepare, complete and manage all documents for new accounts openings for all correspondent banking customers and Nostro accounts.
- Attend annually correspondent bank meetings with the visiting representatives.
- Tasked with ensuring annual due-diligence reviews are conducted and continuous updates thereof
- Tasked with managing and coordinating KYC registries of the correspondent Banks and financial institutions on behalf of the bank
- Ensure compliance with KYC/KYT/AML regulations
- Developing and continuously reviewing business operational policies and procedures ensuring their compliance.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- University graduate in Banking/ Finance/ Accounting or any related field
- Minimum Eight (8 ) years experience in the banking industry including 5 years in correspondent banking area
- Language Skills: Excellent Communication Verbal & Written in English.
- Working Knowledge of Arabic
- Computer/ System / Software Skills: MS Office - Expert
